That line, repeated at the start of each scene, seduced me into writing a full story around it when it came into my head. "I Do This Because I Loved Her" is about a woman trapped in a basement, but it is equally about the woman keeping her captive.
What do you do when the person you love changes into someone you can't recognize? What do you do when they've become a danger to you? A danger to themself?
Many of the details have been left intentionally blank, though answers do exist in my own mind. Neither of the women are ever named. There is nothing to specify location. There is nothing to specify what exactly the affliction is. There is nothing to specify how long these events have been going on for. And, though NoSleep's narrator does lead the listener in one direction, there is nothing to specify whether the ending is really an ending at all.
